The poet, Máire Mhac an tSaoi, was born in 1922, the year in which the Irish Free State came into existence. This documentary explores her life, work and sensual poetic imagination. Her story is told from an intimate perspective through dramatic representations of some of her poems, intercut with documentary footage and the poet’s own commentary on her life and work.
